As another year comes to a close, it’s that time again to pause and speak directly to you. Last year, we shared reflections on why Husmates exists and the deeper values that guide our work . This year, we want to share what listening to you has helped us build.
We began 2025 in the most human non-Ai, non- algo way possible: by picking up the phone and calling you directly. Over the course of several weeks, our team called close to 1,000 of our mobile app users, early believers, skeptics, co-ownership hopefuls and we simply talked. We asked about your housing fears, your financial constraints, your hopes for community, and the quiet compromises you’ve made just to stay in the city you love. Those conversations were the start of building a connection human to human connection with you and shaped everything that followed. From that massive outreach project, we started to design and build a co-ownership matchmaking platform rooted in values alignment and real human connection, not just financial compatibility. We added learning tools directly into the app, because co‑ownership shouldn’t feel opaque or intimidating. And we created safer, more meaningful ways for you to connect with one another— through voice, video, and eventually in person—so that deep trust and education can build a strong foundation long before any house buying decisions are made.
This year also marked a major step forward in making co‑ownership between strangers practical, not just aspirational. On our new web platform, we built the ability to have seamless connections between Husmates users, co-create their groups and connect to experienced co‑ownership Realtors, allowing matched groups to move confidently from conversation to co‑viewing to purchase. In parallel, we began a fundraising journey to support our 2026 milestones. If we’re being totally honest, this has been one of the hardest parts of building Husmates. It has tested our patience, resilience, and sense of self more than almost anything else. But it has also been our greatest teacher. We learned how to articulate our mission with clarity, how to hold on to our values under pressure, and how to choose partners who truly align. We’re proud to share that this year we welcomed our first venture capital partner, Capital M Ventures. A formal announcement is coming soon, but for now we’ll simply say: thank you for believing in us.
Looking ahead, we’re also thrilled to be planning our Biennial Co‑Ownership Conference on March 14, 2026—a space to gather, learn, challenge assumptions, and ideally even meet a potential co-owner. As the world continues to contort itself—economically, politically, emotionally—the Husmates team remains steady in our commitment. We are here to build intentional communities through home co‑ownership. Not as a trend. Not as a workaround. But as a deeply human response to the moment we’re living in.
As you move through this holiday season, we invite you to reflect gently on your home. Does it support you? Does it connect you? Does it leave room for care, for rest, for the joy of shared responsibility? Our hope—for you and for the year ahead—is that you choose spaces and people that help you feel less alone and more supported in a world that can often feel unsteady and isolating.
With gratitude and optimism for what’s next,
Parimal GosaiCEO & Co‑Founder, Husmates
